The graduations that will be happening throughout the summer are open to the public and free to attend!

Graduations ceremonies are always emotional for all involved, from proud, beaming family members to hardworking and excited students ready to embark on new adventures. It’s almost sad that it’s only a few times in life you get to be part of it! But what if I told you that you don’t have to be a graduate or have one in your family to visit the loveliest graduation event ever?

Starting from July, Guide Dogs for the Blind will be hosting graduation ceremonies for their pooches. The utterly adorable ceremonies will take place at their California campus, every other Saturday until the end of September. The events are open to the public, and everyone who wants to come and join the celebration is free to do so! Considering the pawesome work these pooches and their handlers accomplished, it’s only fair they get a big cheering crowd celebrating their success.

The canines chosen for this elite program go through rigorous training that enables them to become professional guide dogs for blind and visually impaired people. Their job entails helping their owner to navigate various obstacles in their environment, as well as assisting them with everyday tasks they’d usually find difficult to accomplish, such as safely crossing the street.

More than 14,000 guide teams have graduated from the school since it was founded in 1942- the current puppy graduates are following in the paw-steps of many generations of seeing-eye dogs. And that’s definitely something any puppy should be proud of!

If you want to get a free tour of the canine campus and attend the cutest graduation day ever, check out Guide Dogs for the Blind for more details on dates, times, and reservations. PS. Kleenex will be provided!
