A sweet boy looking for a loving family- if you want a loyal companion, look no more! Our Adoptable Dog of the Week is Charlo, a 4 years old purebred Golden Retriever from Beverly Hills, California. He is neutered, microchipped, dewormed, and all his vaccinations are up to date. Charlo is also house trained and crate trained. He does well with other dogs and cats, but wouldn’t mind being the only fur baby in the family, either.

Charlo’s Tale

This pooch has come a long way- quite literally! After losing his owner due to a terminal illness, Charlo was rescued all the way from Turkey to get a second chance at his happy furever after. He is a sweet and well-mannered boy with a calm disposition- he’ll spend his afternoons happily curled up at your feet. He loves going on walks and meeting new canine friends, so he gets pretty excited and could do with some basic obedience training to prevent him from pulling on the leash in all the excitement.

Charlo loves nothing more than belly rubs and giving his paw- left or right, it’s the thing he could do all day long. A good boy through and through, he gets along great with other dogs, small and large, in his foster home and wouldn’t mind a canine companion in his new family. He’s OK with cats, as well, but can be perfectly happy as the only pet in the household- he’s an adaptable guy. He can be alert and wary of strangers entering his territory, so it would be best if he goes to an experienced adopter who would know how to make the necessary introductions with new people coming over to avoid a reaction. Charlo is house trained and crate trained and doesn’t make a fuss when he has to spend some time on his own in the house.

If you think Charlo sounds like an awesome dog (and who could blame you?) contact Rover’s Retreat Dog Rescue to learn more about him and the adoption process.
