Sweet, silly, and cute as a button, this pooch is looking for someone to open their heart to him! Our Adoptable Dog of the Week is Comet, a little over 1 year old  Labrador Retriever mix from Dayton, Ohio. He is spayed, microchipped, up to date on his vaccines, and all ready to go to his new home. Comet is friendly with other dogs but would need to meet any potential “dog siblings” to see if their personalities match.

Comet’s Tale

Found as a stray with his brother, Comet has left his days of fear and uncertainty behind – he really blossomed into a loving, goofy, friendly pooch while in the shelter. He is outgoing and makes fast friends with everyone he meets, and it doesn’t take long for him to shower you with puppy smooches in return for some belly rubs and cuddles. Comet has that happy-go-lucky attitude that never fails to brighten up your day!

Young and athletic, Comet has a lot of energy and would benefit from having an owner with an active lifestyle – he’ll love accompanying you on long walks, hikes, or just playing fetch in your backyard. He is a smart dog that is eager to please and learn, so if you’re up for teaching him a few new tricks, he’ll really thrive under your care. Comet is a friendly dog and gets along great with his brother Blitzen, so if you are looking to adopt a pair of adorable pooches – this is your chance. If you already have a dog, it’s best if Comet meets them first to see how they get along.

In case this chocolate-coated cutie has stolen your heart, contact  the Humane Society of Greater Dayton to learn more about him and the adoption process. Fingers crossed – he’d be an amazing companion to any size family!
